David Klanderman

Pastor

Pastor David Klanderman began his ministry at First Presbyterian Church in September of 2010.  He enjoys the many joys and challenges that come with his position and feels privileged to serve this spiritually growing church family.  Some of the things he has most enjoyed so far in his time here are the small groups of Bible Reading Times and the start-up of the FPC Food Pantry.

Pastor David was born in Baldwin, Wisconsin.  He attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and graduated with a degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  He earned a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.  At age 37, he got “the call” and attended Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan where he earned a Masters in Divinity.  His background is diverse with work experience that has taken him from working in a radio station, life insurance, and 21 years as a nursing home administrator.   He has served 5 churches in Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Arizona.   He enjoys all aspects of ministry: preaching, leadership, teaching, outreach, and pastoral care, just to name a few.  He volunteers as a local Hospice chaplain, as well as an on-call hospital chaplain.  David married his wife Elizabeth 11 years ago.  Together they have four children and four grandchildren, and two precious Bishons – Gabriel and Dickens.  In his spare time he helps Elizabeth with their Bed and Breakfast (Plum Panache’), and likes to work in the yard and around the house as well.  P.D as he likes to be called is also known for his awesome cheeseburger chowder soup, which he makes from scratch, and his sense of humor.
