Organ Competition – Opening EventCome and enjoy the sounds of the 1970 Tellers Organ played by Dr. Lynn Trapp, winner of the 1984 organ competition. A consummate artist of the highest caliber, Dr. Lynn Trapp holds a distinguished career as concert organist, pianist, conductor, composer and liturgist.
From Carnegie Hall, NYC to Westminster Abbey, London his many concert appearances, more than 100 publications with nine major publishers, academic awards, and clinician work has brought him great respect nationally and internationally

Organ Competition – Pipes & Pizza: An Intro to the King of InstrumentsKids in grades 4 and up are invited to explore the King of Instruments – the pipe organ. Participants will have the opportunity to play and even build an actual playing organ! A free pizza lunch following the presentation will be held at First Presbyterian Church.

Organ Competition – Organ Repertoire and the Art of Composition with Dr. Lynn TrappOrganists and composers will benefit from insights into music selection and performance techniques in this organ repertoire workshop by Dr. Lynn Trapp.

Organ CompetitionHear three of the most talented undergraduate organists in the country compete for the top prize in this year’s organ competition. Each competitor will play in front of three judges works by Bach, hymns, and a piece of their choosing. The audience will also take part in the judging, resulting a special audience prize to a player voted best performer.
