Food Pantry

The First Presbyterian Food Pantry was established in the spring of 2012. We opened our doors to our neighbors in our community in May of 2012, and served over 60 families the first month. Since then the numbers of families requesting assistance has grown substantially. We strive to meet each need with Christ-like compassion, respect, and dignity. The Food Pantry is directed by a group of dedicated church members with the assistance of a large number of volunteers.

Our hours of operation are the third Thursday of every month from 3:00-5:30 p.m. (Occasionally because of holidays, the Food Pantry shifts to a different Thursday). Income requirements are determined by the Food Bank of Iowa. We are an equal opportunity provider FNS Nondiscrimination Statement. No SIEDA voucher is required. The pantry does request proof of name and address. Participants are directed to enter through the elevator door on the east side of the church (parking lot side) to register and receive information. If Ottumwa schools close due to bad weather, the Food Pantry will also be closed.
