SCOUTING OPPORTUNITIES

First Presbyterian Church is proud to be the chartered organization for Cub Scout Pack 2, Boy Scout Pack 2, and Scouts BSA Troop 219 under the Mid Iowa Boy Scout Council, Woodland Trails District.

Scouting is about building skills in citizenship, character, personal fitness, and leadership. The mission of the scouting experience is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Cub Scouts is a program within the Boy Scouts of America that serves youth from 6 to 11 years old. The Cub Scouts program aims to prepare youth to grow into self-reliant and dependable adults.

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout.

Meetings for Cub Scout Pack 2, Boy Scout Pack 2, and Scouts BSA Troop 219, a new troop for 6-12 grade girls in Scouting BSA, are held at FPC.
